Peter Dutton is not a scientist. Most of us are not either.
But we know that the federal election on May 3 will be critical in deciding how we address the climate crisis for generations to come.
Climate Action Burwood-Canada Bay will be active in the Reid electorate during the lead-up, but we need your help to get our message out.
We can’t campaign for or against parties or candidates but we ask them what they stand for, praise their best policies for the climate, and call out the bad ones.
We’ll be letterboxing across the electorate and handing out leaflets at train stations explaining to voters the message that we think is most important in bringing our emissions to Net Zero as quickly as possible: Solar Saves. Nuclear Costs.
Climate Action Burwood-Canada Bay will be in touch with each of the seven candidates for Reid seeking their views on important climate and energy matters. We will pass on their answers as they come to hand.
How can you help us?
Our plan is to get our message out to as many people across the Reid electorate as we can in the next thirteen days. Our plan is to have people reading our message before they head to the polling booths at either pre-polling or election day.
Our key slogan:
We need help in the following areas:
- Putting flyers in letterboxes. There are 28 suburbs wholly or partly in the Reid electorate and we’d like to reach as many as possible, giving priority to the more conservative suburbs or those likely to be swinging on the nuclear issue
- Handing out flyers at railway stations and public spaces
- Displaying and distributing yard signs
- Talking with people on the theme of our key message
“Solar Saves, Nuclear Costs”
The more people who volunteer with us, the more we can do.
