Last Tuesday evening Climate Action Burwood-Canada Bay hosted an information session on installing solar panels on apartment buildings (SoAR). It was done in co-operation with City of Canada Bay Council and Rewiring Australia.
The event was a huge success, with over thirty people attending.
The speakers were as impressive as any we’ve had at our events. Brent Clark from Wattblock spoke first, and brought his extensive experience in helping apartment dwellers navigate the process of getting approval for the addition of solar. Lorenzo Tassone from The Good Earth Group spoke next. He talked about some of the apartment blocks where his company had installed solar arrays. Finally, Jasper Webster from Inner West Community Energy spoke about some of the projects he had worked on both here and in Victoria.
Our special guest was Reid MP Sally Sitou, who spoke about the government’s initiatives to help people install renewables and go all-electric.
