October was another busy month in community activity and outreach by volunteers of Climate Action Burwood-Canada Bay.
CALD Forum at Burwood Library
Steven and Ken attended the Burwood Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Communities (CALD) Forum at Burwood Library last Tuesday night. They networked with representatives of the area’s various multicultural organisations, as well as with staff from Burwood Council.
Climate change and renewable energy were topics of considerable interest among the attendees at the forum, and it is clear that they are now firmly on the council’s agenda. The forum also allowed CABCB to extend its links with local community groups. We thank the organisers for inviting us.
Lane Cove Sustainability Lane
Steven, Robin and Ken went to the Lane Cove sustainability festival (known as ‘Sustainability Lane’) to talk about electric vehicles and climate action, and to demonstrate cooking with induction.
Strathfield Council grants ceremony
Climate Action Burwood-Canada Bay accepted a grant from Strathfield Council at a community ceremony at Strathfield Council along with about thirty other groups across the LGA. This grant will allow us to translate some of our flyers into Chinese and Korean. We thank the Council for approving this grant, and will proceed on the project as soon as possible.
