November 2023 was another busy month for the volunteers of Climate Action Burwood-Canada Bay. While a lot happened behind the scenes with submission writing to various parliamentary inquiries, and planning for future major events, we found the time to conduct some community outreach and hold one of our major fundraisers for the year.
Presentation to the Rotary Club of Burwood
Ken gave a well-received presentation to the Rotary Club of Burwood, organised by club president Cr Hugo Robinson. Hugo is a representative on Burwood Council and is a strong supporter of climate action.
Bunnings sausage sizzle
For the second year we conducted a successful fundraising sausage sizzle in the car park of Bunnings at Ashfield. We sold about 780 sausages, had many conversations about climate change, and showed off an electric car. Thank you to all our volunteers Robin, Steven, Ken, Ellen, Marg, Billie, Gina, Sean, Sarah, James, Brendan and Kyle, and to Bunnings for their support through their Community program.
Proceeds from the day help finance all the work that Climate Action Burwood-Canada Bay does in our community throughout the year.
