January was a quiet month for outreach by Climate Action Burwood-Canada Bay. February was a bit busier.
Everything Electric Expo
Promoted as the world’s biggest electrification and renewables fair, the Everything Electric Expo was held at The Dome, Sydney Olympic Park over the first weekend of February. CABCB had a stall there with the assistance of an army of volunteers. Our own Steven Du took part in one of the discussion panels on electric vehicles.
Stitch It, Don’t Ditch It
Recycling of materials is an important solution in the battle against climate change. CABCB launched its sustainable fashion program with a six week sewing workshop – “Stitch It, Don’t Ditch It” – held at the Woodstock Centre, Burwood with an engaged and enthusiastic group of attendees. This program continues into March, and is funded by a grant from the Club Burwood Group with the venue provided by Burwood Council.
